In 2023, Forbes India sat down with us to trace the story behind Aava Water. The conversation, led by journalist Naandika Tripathi, went deep into how a family-run business built India's pioneering naturally alkaline mineral water category, quietly and over nearly two decades.
The feature covered our journey from inauguration in 2005 to our position today as one of India's most recognised premium mineral water brands. It explored our shift from a predominantly B2B business, with early clients across major airlines and luxury hotels, to a balanced model where direct-to-consumer presence now drives half of what we do. It looked at how three of us in the Mehta family share responsibilities across operations, brand, and quality, and how the next phase of Aava is being shaped by sparkling water, premium beverage extensions, and a growing international footprint.
Throughout the piece, one thread ran clearly. Aava is naturally alkaline at a pH of 8, BIS IS 13428-certified, originating in the Aravalli Hills, and bottled at origin with zero water rejection. But the way we have always seen it: we don't bottle water. We bottle trust, health and wellness. It is a philosophy we have held since 2005, even as the category around us has grown crowded with brands chasing trends.
Reading the Forbes feature again today, what stands out is how much of what we shared has come to pass. The B2C expansion has accelerated, the international footprint has grown, and the product portfolio has begun extending into sparkling and premium beverage formats. And the throughline has remained exactly the same. Twenty years on, we still don't bottle water. We bottle trust, health and wellness.
